As requested, here is a summary, by no means exhaustive, of some things that transpired during my employment at MWeb in CPT.
This is not a legal document; it is not a declearation of any type and should not be taken as such.
This document was created as per request from the HR department in Cape Town after I have asked them for a second time, if there is any way of resolving my issue internally.
According to the CCMA, I only have 6 months since the time that I have been treated unfairly, to complain to them and since I left MWeb, I'm still waiting for some documentation.... to present to the CCMA

I, Hanif Kruger, was outsourced to Tiscali South-africa who was then bought over by MWeb.
I started on 7 August, 2003 and worked for the outsourcing company, CCN group, till September 6, 2005.
My contract with CCN was to end in January, 2006 but, my project manager agreed to let me go so as to benefit MWeb with the takeover
If I knew that MWeb was only going to use me for 6 months and then dump me, I can most certainly assure you, I would have never ever left Johannesburg.
So, I was offered a position at Mweb Home in Cape town and assured, verbally, that they want me on the team and all the other fluff talk that goes with it.
I was contacted telephonically at the end of September, 2005, by the then assistant CC-manager regarding the starting date of my employment and other administrative details.
I started employment on 17 October, 2005.
This also was the beginning of my probation period.
Till nearly the end of January, I never received any input, complaints or any communication from my team manager.
So, my work was ok, etc. I didn't even get stats, input or anything.
Actually I didn't even know in who's team I was but, anyhow, suddenly the diciplinary hearings came.
I was now in my second probation period; as a favour to me; and no witnesses, no workplace forum representatives or nothing.
I have requested my (Team-Manager) on various occasions to put me in someone else's team since he had a nack for bad language in our meetings.
He also lacked the ability to make constructive suggestions and always found a way to make me understand that MWeb is doing me a favour.
This was something that I didn't liked or aproved of in the least since CCN never ever put me through abuse like that.
I used a software program called JFW that basically allows me to do my work and mweb just changed over from one logging application to another.
I had to write scripts for JFW in order to work with the new logging program but, I still logged my calls in the old application and the results captured by the old application was still link on the database wich meant in effect that results of my calls could be viewed by the new application.
But, my TM said (And noted this down) that Hanif Kruger does not log his calls.
Lovely.....
During my employment at MWeb, even till my last week of employment that I was physically present, I did call backs for Team managers on request.
Yes, I would be given a UI, number and the tm phone and do the call back.
I even assisted with some escalations.
So, mysteriously the other tm's had faith in my ability.
It should also be noted that I featured in the MWeb internal magazine in March, 2006.
So, they either miss-printed the heading or had nobody else to interview but, they found it interesting.
So, here I was; never getting on the floor feedback from my TM; been made to feel useless, incompitent and manipulated.
I entrusted him with personal information and armed with this they realized that they could just dump me since I had a few friends only and that most of them didn't have transport and that if they did, they either were working during the day or were unable, due to financial reasons, to assist me to move around.
Anyway, I received my two weeks notice on 13 april 2006.
My team manager assured me that they didn't take me on because of my inability to do my work and no other reason.
When I came in to work on 17 april, 2006, I was told that I'm not allowed at my workstation and that I was now a liability for the entire MWeb project.
I was made to sit in Reception, until 10 that evening.
SO, in JHB I worked for three years; clients were happy with me and I received awards every other month for best agent in the team or improvement or hard work, etc.
At Mweb, in CPT, I gave it my all. I didn't take lunch or tea breaks, I always attempted first call resolution and tried to ignore my team manager's snide remarks but, I'd receive no thanks or recognition for anything that I have done.
I was asked to compile this document and to say what I expect from MWeb.
I have already communicated some or all of these facts verbally but, just to emphasize:
I was left totally stranded with no income since I was denied an exit interview and since Hr's business was completed.
I wasn't even given the chance to greet my colleagues or to give in my locker key or headset or security tag.
I have also requested my Team manager to provide the documentation as to why I was not made permanent and it is needless to say that I'm still awaiting those.
All I ever expected from MWeb was to be treated fairly.
Various clients are still in communication with me.
The latest request for my contact number occurred in august and lucky for the client, the agent they spoke to had my cellphone number. If I was so bad, why do clients prefer to phone me for help?
And yes, obviously I'm not perfect; it is logic that I also have my bad days but, as a matter of principle, I stand by the fact that I was treated unfairly and until this has been resolved satisfactorily, I will not rest.

People say that it was foolish of me to have written down my feelings.
It was disloyal; wrong, immoral and plainly; false accusations.
Fine!
So, it's all ok that I have been mistreated;
It's ok that the person who was my team manager during my stay in Cape Town has received a final written warning.
It's all in order that my financial status has been ruined and that the bank and other creditors would just love to get hold of me for the money that I am owing them.
So, if I understand this correctly, I am supposed to be in awe of their unique and well-established ways of dealing with surplus staff.
Honestly, I may have been irresponsible to a certain degree in labelling everyone under that same label and I'm sorry but, this is how I felt.
I have been wronged;
I am financially very unstable right now and yes, I am still angry.
The HR department asked me to present to them a document so as to enlighten them what I think they should do.
I did explain all of this to them verbally but, they wanted it in writing and even though I have warned them that I am not really able to compose or structure words in an orderly manner, they insisted on the document.

Allright, I'm not very good at expressing myself through the medium of writing but, I'm going to give it a go.
I am visually impaired, blind, or whatever you'd like to call it and yes, it is important since I think that this had alot to do with what transpired.

In 2003 I started working for Tiscali south-africa, pty ltd.
Yes, I was outsourced but, treated well.
I received numerous awards for my customer service rendered, was on SABC2 and also featured in the internal magazine for the company.

Then MWeb purchased Tiscali, to everyone's dismay.
Some people came over from MWeb in CPT.
I was in Johannesburg at that time and well, they interviewed alot of our guys.
I was verbaly assured of a position and also had an interview at capetown during one of my visits to the Mother city on the 5th of August, 2005.
At the beginning of September, 2005, I was informed that MWeb would definitely take me on in Cape town.
And I left JHB for CPT.
At the end of September, 2005, Hassan Muqaddam (Name is most probably spelled incorrectly; phoned me and asked if I could start on the 17th of October.
So, I went.
Started work on October 17th, 2005 relocated from JHB to cpt and so on and.....
in the beginning of January, 2006 I was suddenly informed that my work sucked and that I am now on my second probation period.
So, let's get this straight: Nothing was wrong for three months and then suddenly they've got a probelm.
To make a long story short.
My team manager, Ivo Moodley, or something; held countless (dicipplinary) hearings and I might add that there was never any representation of any sort; i.e. I had no work place forum representation, no means to object.
So, on 14 April, 2006 I was served with a two weeks notice.
When I came in on 18 April to work, I was given a dead-line and told that I wasn't allowed to come into work.
So, Ivo moodley knew that I was blind and had no means of objecting for I was residing in Heideveld, witch is not really that affluent an area.
I don't get UIF, I wasn't allowed to come in to work and if I came in, I was plainly ignored.
I didn't have any recourse and due to my lovely disability I couldn't rome town for an attorney or the likeness.
I'm now at a friend's place in Natal.
I'm not working; my relationship with my bank is screwed; everything I've built up is just gone and I've got no family, no support and absolutely nothing that I can do...
Is all hope lost? Is there any recourse for me as an individual who knew that my customers were happy with me?
I went out of my way for customers and Many people could attest to that.
I mixed well with my colleagues and really worked hard.
If anybody has any advice or ideas, constructive or encouraging, please contact me.

I was with Mweb only because they bought over IAfrica's client base. I must say that after being a MWeb member for many years I don't think there were really
any benefits to being with them. They were really crappy - and they try to justify their exorbitant monthly subscriptions with their "value-added services"
like the online encyclopedia, anti-virus and anti-spam scanning. Their customer service sucks just as much. The only thing MWeb is interested in is signing
you on - forget about getting any benefits from them afterwards.
I wish they had an emoticon for "sucks" because I would use it right now.
