Stoffel Roadmap

This roadmap is not a promise or a release schedule. It is the current direction for future development.

Recent work already added internal playback, buffering, EQ, resume playback, sleep timer, bookmarks, extracted episode records, better episode ordering, automatic next-episode queueing, basic queue reordering, ZIP cleanup after extraction, refresh downloads, manual OMDb linking, AudioVault additions checks, and configurable offline storage. The roadmap below starts from there instead of repeating finished work as if we forgot what we just did five minutes ago.

Near term

Continue refining extracted episode records, especially odd archive naming, duplicate episode numbers, and better series/season grouping.
Polish play-next behaviour after real testing, including edge cases around manual queues and sleep-timer choices.
Add save/load queue support and possibly an expanded queue dialog if the compact player list becomes too cramped.
Improve offline library management with storage totals, better filters, bulk actions, cache cleanup, and optional migration between offline storage folders.
Improve metadata matching further, including search result selection when OMDb returns multiple plausible matches.
Smarter catalogue maintenance for renamed or removed AudioVault items, while keeping the current item-ID additions check respectful and lightweight.
Keep polishing keyboard and screen-reader behaviour as real testing exposes annoyances.

Medium term

Advanced filters by year, genre, actor, director, rating, watched state, and offline state.
Backup and restore for the Stoffel database and settings.
First-run setup wizard.
More player options such as stop after current episode, richer bookmark management, and better resume choices.
Sleep-friendly and mini-player modes for listening without the whole library screen in your face.
Optional custom shortcut configuration, if it can be done without creating a keyboard circus.

Always

Keep Stoffel free.
Keep keyboard and screen-reader accessibility central.
Remain respectful of AudioVault, OMDb, copyright holders, and network/server limits.
Keep optional donations optional. Stoffel should not turn into nagware with a PayPal moustache.

Kwagga.com release integration

Initial Kwagga.com update checks are now in place. Future work can add a fuller in-app support ticket submission flow, but support reports still remain local unless the user chooses to share them.
